Budo Bash 11 Review

Well that’s BB all done and dusted for another year, roll on 2012 when we’ll be having training followed by a pirate themed fancy dress party (apparently?!).

Training was extremely technical at certain points over the weekend and was mentally and physically tiring for both students and instructors as we explored the various aspects of kihon happo and introduced principles taken from our many collective years of training.

Congratulations go to Stefano and Hazel who earnt a well deserved shodan (1st dan) and to Brian who excelled to gain his sandan (3rd dan).

Welcome to RHUL ninjutsu Club.

Hello everyone,

welcome to the RHUL Ninjutsu Club. I was really excited to meet you all at the Taster session and/or Freshers’ Fayre and am looking forward to our first session very much. This email contains some info regarding that first session, our closest upcoming socials and our first events. So make sure you’re strapped in tight, throw your hands up and enjoy the ride!

[TRAINING] First session

Next Tuesday, 28th of September, 8-10pm in the Sports Hall is our official start to training this year! The first few weeks we’ll be focusing on the basics so the newbies can get into it and the oldies can reacquaint themselves with all they’ve forgotten over the summer :)

  • Make sure you’re there a little early so you can change and be ready to start at 8pm.
  • Wear loose-fitting clothing without zips/buttons/embellishments
  • Bring your NUS cards to join after the session if you haven’t joined already – and double-check it has that green sticker on the back that means you have the SAM insurance (you can’t train without it)
  • Remove all jewelry before the session – if you have piercings and can’t take them out, bring a plaster, medical tape or sth similar to stick over them
  • If you wear glasses, switch to contact lenses if you can, but if you can’t, don’t worry – although you might have to take them off for rolling and things like that

And very importantly, bring a change of clean clothes for our social afterwards! :D

[EVENTS] Campus Seminar, MA day

Sunday, 17th of October, 11am to 5pm in the SU Main Hall is our very own Ninjutsu Campus Seminar! This is an extra-long training session and will be held by our regular instructor Bill Liddle (just like our Tuesday sessions are) and it’s a great way to either get properly stuck into Ninjutsu or refresh your all-round skill set. And because it’s so early, any friends of yours who are curious to come along are very welcome to and catch up to everyone else!

Saturday, 9th of October is MA (martial arts) day, our charity event – more info on that after the first session. :)

[SOCIALS] Welcome (back) social, Come in your Kit, Ninjaquest

Next Tuesday, 28th of September, 10pm to 1am in Tommy’s, so right after our first session, is our start of term “Welcome (back)” social! Get to know everyone and settle right (back) in!

Friday, 8th of October, 9pm to 3am in the SU, it’s Come in your Kit-night! For those of you who love to union it up – plus it’s a perfect excuse to show off the fact you can legitimately call yourself a Ninja ;)

Saturday, 6th of November, afternoon/evening in Wokingham were going Ninjaquesting! This means Laserquesting, bowling, playing pool & drinks; it’s barely a hop on the train and they have student prices! Awesome!

So now, join our facebook group, check out our website and prepare to have fun! I’ll see you next Tuesday! :D

All the best,

Alexandra

Welcome to the new website!

Thank you for visiting us at our new home!

The old honryu-dojo.co.uk domain will expire in the coming months and purchasing this new domain, bill-liddle.com has given me the opportunity to combine all my activities into one place.

All the best and hope to see you at training in September.

Bill.
